National Banned Books Week 2024 Date. Banned books week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read and the worthwhile endeavor of resisting censorship. We invite readers, authors, educators, librarians, and everyone who opposes censorship to get involved during banned books week 2024.

Banned books week is sunday, september 22 through saturday, september 28. Banned books week expresses opposition to national and local efforts to remove or restrict access to books in libraries, schools, and bookstores.
